On-Board Graphics
If your system includes both an integrated graphics controller and a dedicated GPU, don’t forget to check which one the game is using.
For NVIDIA GPUs you can do this by opening NVIDIA Control Panel
- 3D Settings > Manage 3D Settings > Program Settings
Look for Cities2 in the drop-down list under “1. Select a program to customise:” – for me, it wasn’t there so I pressed add and then found it in the list.
Press “Add selected program”, and then check the graphics processor listed for Cities2 in drop-down box 2. “Select the preferred graphics processor for this program”
My system’s global setting is auto-select, and it defaulted to my integrated graphics card. Click the drop-down box and select “High-performance NVIDIA processor” from the list, then press “Apply”. This should force the game to use the correct graphics card.
