In order to take advantage of the most recent advancements in videogame technology, Unreal Engine 5, ARK: Survival Ascended has meticulously recreated and redesigned the artwork and worlds of ARK. This includes utilizing advanced mesh streaming (also known as “Nanite”) of hundreds of millions of triangles for extreme detail and fully dynamic global illumination (also known as “Lumen”), which allows light to bounce realistically off surfaces and provide realistic reflections.
