The Brew Barons – How to Measure Ratios

Tips for Ratios

The Problem

I’m still struggling with the 55% for one ingredent and 25% for another… is there any tips? I’m not good with ratios and I can’t seem to find a way to figure this out…

The Solution

Here’s the secret: Switch the brew pot to item # count, then add the number of ingredients show on the recipe.

For example, let’s say a beer of 35% prickly wheat and 20% apple:

  1. Add 35 prickly wheat to pot.
  2. Add 20 apple to pot.

Now, switch the pot to % view, and note the current % of wheat and apple.

Now you know exactly how many wheat and apple should be in the pot total, to get the ratio specified by the recipe.
